This is a pilot lifestyle intervention study led by Dr. Ananya Banerjee at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. The study is targeted at South Asian adolescents aged 13-18 years with a family history of type 2 diabetes, and their families. The area of focus is the Peel Region, in the Greater Toronto Area , Ontario, Canada. This includes the cities of Brampton and central/northeast Mississauga. The goal of this study is to increase awareness and knowledge of type 2 diabetes prevention among South Asian adolescents with a family history of type 2 diabetes. Click here for more information.
